Zig Zag
Zigzag ( my homebuilt wood/epoxy 35ft Catamaran) with 6 crew did the race in 2008. We had such a great time , both sailing , making friends and on the trip back on the RMS, that we decided to do it again ! This time around , me as skipper plus wife Helen ( the real skipper ) , plus cousin Annelise Waller , her husband John and Keith Barr , a friend and crew from 2008 make up the crew . Hopefully we will catch a few fish again as Keith is a whizz in the galley and at making sushi etc
There is no doubt that a visit to this wonderful island and its friendly people exerts a sort of magnetic pull that draws you back. This will be my third visit, the 1st time being a long ago cruise in 1982 which eventually took us via the Carribbean , to Maine in the US. That trip was undertaken on Salty Dog 2, a 35ft steel cutter also built by me and in fact that boat was the very first design drawn by my friend Dudey Dix and designed for me .
Roll on December the 1st ! , only please let the winds be kind to until we get around Cape Point !
